The grapefruit probably originated in Barbados as a hybrid of shaddock (Citrus grandis). It already became well established as a fruit for home consumption in the islands of the West Indies before its culture spread to the American mainland. Now, it has become a popular breakfast fruit around the world.

  1. Vaporisation: Add 5-10 drops of essential oil into warm water by using diffuser.  

  2. Massage: Add 4-5 drops of essential oil into 10ml of carrier oil for facial or body massage or as a home-made body oil after shower. It is very good for muscular and spiritual relaxation.

  3. Bathing: Add 8-10 drops for a full bath. It can stimulates blood circulation and is ideal way to relax.

  4. Inhalation: Add 3-5 drops of essential oil into a bowl of steaming water. Place a towel over the head, close your eyes and inhale deeply. It can help to relieve physical and mental stress, especially headache and respiratory system problems.

  5. Clay mask (Cleansing and Whitening): Add 1-2 drops of essential oils to the mixtures of floral water and clay mask.

  6. Personal skin care product (e.g Shampoo,Bath Gel,Facial cream etc.): Add 4-5drops of essential oils to your own skin care products, create the unique personalised skin care products.

  7. Perfume: Add 4-5 drops of essential oils and 4-10 drops of solubiliser into 10ml water to create your own personalised perfume.

Blending Base Measurement:

1% Essential oil in (5/10/30/50/100)mL = (1/2/6/10/20) drops per volume of essential oil respectively

2% Essential oil in (5/10/30/50/100)mL = (2/4/12/20/40) drops per volume of essential oil respectively

2.5% Essential oil in (5/10/30/50/100)mL = (3/5/15/25/30) drops per volume of essential oil respectively

Eye care = 0.5% Face = 1% - 2% Adult full body = 2% - 2.5%

*Remarks: Thin oil can apply onto skin directly. Thick oil is sticky, diluted with thin oil will be better

Organic Grapefruit Pink Organic grapefruit belongs to the Citrus family, and it is useful for many purposes in aromatherapy. A lot of studies have shown that organic health is grapefruit is beneficial to the health if used with the help of an expert; Anti-obesity A study that evaluates the effectiveness of grapefruit juice on body weight and neurotransmitters controlling appetite was investigated in obese rats. The rats were assigned to two dietary groups for three (3) weeks; the control group (6) and the obese group (24). Grapefruit juice produced its weight reduction effect after one week of administration and lasted till the end of the experiment, and did not affect brain neurotransmitters. Antimicrobial activities In a study that evaluated the antimicrobial effect of the chemical composition of the essential oil (EO) of grapefruit obtained by solvent-free microwave extraction (SFME) and hydrodistillation (HD). In total, 25 components were identified with Limonene being dominant. Grapefruit showed a wide spectrum of antimicrobial effects against Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Escherichia coli, and so on, and their inhibition zones range from 11 to 53 mm. Antioxidants A study was carried out to evaluate the antioxidant behavior and the cytoprotective effect in vitro of grapefruit. A total of thirteen flavonoids were quantified in grapefruit peel extracts by HPLC-MS/MS. In vivo assay revealed that fresh and oven-dried grapefruit peel extracts (45°C) exerted a strong cytoprotective effect on SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cell lines at concentrations ranging within 0.1–0.25 mg/mL. Also, it exhibits outstanding antioxidant activity. Effects on blood pressure In a study aimed to evaluate the evidence for or against the effectiveness of grapefruits (Citrus paradisi) on body weight, blood pressure, and lipid profile. Only overweight and obese subjects were included. One hundred and fifty-four citations were identified and three RCTs with a total of 250 participants were included. Grapefruit significantly reduced systolic blood pressure. Central fatigue In a study carried out on the therapeutic effect of grapefruit on central fatigue. The study included thirty-three rats, randomly and equally divided into a control group, chronic sleep deprivation group, and compound essential oil inhalation group. The study demonstrated the effectiveness of grapefruit on central fatigue after 21 days of intervention. Hypolipidemic effects In a study carried out to evaluate the hypolipidemic effects of grapefruit in rats. All rats were divided into 11 groups each comprising 10 animals. All rats in the respective groups were treated with sterile water, juices, and standard drug for 8 weeks, and the lipid profile was estimated at the end of dosing. Grapefruit was effective in reducing cholesterol, triglycerides (TGs), and low-density lipoprotein (LDL). References Mallick, N., Khan, R,A., 2016.
