Orange orange is referred to as Citrus sinensis. It is used in aromatherapy for client health benefits. Its health benefits range from its effects on nervous system disorder, stress-related complaints, insomnia, colds, dull and oily complexions, wrinkles, moisturizing, regenerating-skin, euphoric, and so many others. Anxiolytics In a study carried out to investigate the antianxiety effects of Citrus sinensis essential oil on anxiety disorders. Nine clinical studies fulfilled the criteria adopted for analysis, and the results showed Citrus sinensis EOs produce anxiolytic effects both in preclinical experiments and in different clinical conditions. The exposure to Citrus sinensis EO in clinical studies showed to be positive in reducing anxiety levels in patients. Play a role in exercise performance and respiratory function parameters In a study that assessed the effects of Citrus sinensis flower and Mentha spicata leaves essential oils in two different groups of athlete male students on their exercise performance and lung function. Twenty physical education students volunteered to participate in the study and were randomly allocated equally into two groups; Mentha spicata and Citrus sinensis. Lung function tests were measured using a spirometer for each student pre and post nebulization. The study supported the effectiveness of M. spicata and C. sinensis essential oils on exercise performance and respiratory function parameters. Antimicrobial activity A study carried out to assess the in vitro antimicrobial potential and also determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of Citrus sinensis peel extracts against dental caries pathogens. The study concluded that Citrus sinensis peel extract to be effective against dental caries pathogens and contains compounds with therapeutic potential. Modulatory effect A study was carried out to evaluate the possible modulatory effect of dry orange peels powder (OPP) to attenuate the toxic effects of Bisphenol A (BPA) on the liver and spleen in rats. Sixty male Spargue–Dawley rats were randomly divided into six groups (10 each). It was observed that OPP dietary supplementation in the tested doses ameliorates deleterious effects induced by BPA. The improvement in these altered parameters in OPP supplemented groups was in a dose-dependent manner. References Shetty SB, Mahin-Syed-Ismail P, Varghese S, et al.
