Winter Skin Tips
The icy winter winds work havoc with your skin, and chapping of skin becomes a common problem. But, the most vulnerable to cold is dry skin which cracks easily if uncared for, many a time cracked skin bleeds too. Icy winds also fade the complexion of your skin.
Face cleansing
If the skin is dry; then minimise the use of soap to as little as possible. Jojoba oil, sweet almond oils are effective in reducing dryness, use them to wipe off make up. Thereafter, apply mild and gentle cleansing lotion and rub it thoroughly on your face and neck.
Face tonic
Skin tonic is important, it refreshes the skin, supplies nutrients and moisture. Facial massage with skin-tonic mixed with carrier oil is beneficial. Massage should be continued for at least ten minutes so as to enable it penetrates the skin.
Winter Bath
Stop using harsh soaps, as they strip the moisture from the body. Your body can easily develop cracks. Taking a bath during the winter must be caution, it is because hot water robs your skin of natural oils so try to limit the time spent in the bath and don't use too hot water. Try creamy bath gels as an alternative. And don't forget a good body oil and slather it on.
Winter Massage
During winter, dry skin regains its glow by massaging. Dryness of skin can be removed by massage oil. Massage hands, arms and other exposed parts of the body with massage oil. Pure and natural plant materials have natural protection and prevent skin from chapping while expose and it is very good for the skin and leaves it smooth and free from blemishes.
Winter Lip Care
Lips tend to dry out the fastest at this time of year. Cover them with a carrier oil or beeswax lip balm on the lips is essential before going to bed. Avoid licking your lips and don't bite the skin on the surface of your lips.
Winter Nail Care
If your nails are weak, splitting, fragile etc, nails take quite a beating all winter long so here is a little tip for keeping them at their best. Every few days, brush them with carrier oil and avoid any petroleum jelly.
Winter Eye Care
Mix a good eye cream with essential oil, carrier oil, aloe vera, hydrosol and moisturizer to protect the delicate eye area day and night. Donˇ¦t forget to keep a pair of sunglasses handy to protect the eyes from wind and glare from the sun which will quickly contribute to tiny wrinkles.

- 2 drops lavender essential oil

- 15 ml rose hip seed oil
- 10 ml camellia oil
- 5 ml jojoba oil
